Paul Pogba becomes first Manchester United player to score two in two since Wayne Rooney in 2012

PAUL POGBA has become the first player to scored two in as many matches for Manchester United since Wayne Rooney in 2012.
Pogba bagged a double at Old Trafford against Bournemouth one match after his brace against Huddersfield.

The French World Cup winner has become the first United player to achieve the feat in six years.

Pogba’s first goal against Bournemouth was a good showcase of positioning and timing as he tapped in from close range after a Marcus Rashford assist.
Rashford rightfully took most credit for the goal as he skimmed past Nathan Ake before flip-flapping the ball to beat full-back Diego Rico.

Pogba rounded off Rashford’s amazing dribbling as United took the lead at Old Trafford.
The Frenchman would grab his second 28 minutes later as Pogba headed home a fine Ander Herrera cross.
Before his double against Huddersfield Pogba had managed just one goal in 13 league appearances as his relationship with ex-boss Jose Mourinho worsened.
However, Pogba’s performances have drastically improved since Mourinho was sacked earlier this month – and the 25-year-old’s goalscoring form is evidence to that.

‘Key location’ in MH370 hunt revealed as sleuths claim missing plane’s was heading towards Kazakhstan

Category : MH370 , News , World News

THE location of the Malaysian Airlines jet which disappeared in March 2014 may be nowhere near the Indian Ocean but in Kazakhstan, according to the latest bizarre theory.
Flight MH370 was travelling from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing with 239 people on board when it vanished.
Flight MH370 disappeared in March 2014Peter Jordan – The Sun
Investigators thought the most likely location for the jet was in the Indian Ocean after analysing information from the British satellite telecommunications company Immarsat.
Likely locations for the airliner could be tracked by knowing the distance from the fixed satellite but it would also change depending what direction the plane was flying in after its last known position and at what speed it was travelling at.
If it was flying north then possible locations could stretch as fast as the border between Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan to Thailand.
But if it was flying south possible sites could range from Indonesia to the southern Indian Ocean.
Some believe the location of MH370 could actually be in KazakhstanGetty – Contributor
The search for the missing plane has focused on the Indian OceanAFP

While the authorities believe the Indian Ocean is the most likely site Kazakhstan is also a possibility, the Sunday Express reports.
The author of The Plane That Wasn’t There Jeff Wise said: “If the plane went north, hijackers might have landed in some remote location and the passengers could still be alive.
“If the plane went south, the only destination was a watery grave.
“But of yet there was no clear way to distinguish between the two options.”
Pieces thought to be from the wreckage have been foundAFP or licensors
Five pieces, said to be from the plane were found on a beach in MadagascarEPA
However the possibility that the plane flew north seems unlikely as if it had it would have crossed the radar of a number of countries but no one reported detecting its presence in its airspace.
The Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak originally asked the Kazakhstan leader Nursultan Nazarbayev to set up a search operation in the country but this quickly got sidelined as the rescue efforts focused on the Indian Ocean.

MH370 – WHAT HAPPENED?

Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 took off from Kuala Lumpur and was heading to Beijing with 239 people on board.
Passengers included Chinese calligraphers, a couple on their way home to their young sons after a long-delayed honeymoon and a construction worker who hadn’t been home in a year.
But at 12.14am on March 8, 2014, Malaysia Airlines lost contact with MH370 close to Phuket island in the Strait of Malacca.
Before that, Malaysian authorities believe the last words heard from the plane, from either the pilot or co-pilot, was “Good night Malaysian three seven zero”.
Satellite “pings” from the aircraft suggest it continued flying for around seven hours when the fuel would have run out.
Experts have calculated the most likely crash site around 1,000 miles west of Perth, Australia.
But a huge search of the seabed failed to find any wreckage – and there are a number of alternative theories as to its fate.

So far debris believed to be from the plane have been found on beaches in Malaysia, Mozambique and Tanzania.
Five pieces, thought to be from the plane, recently washed up in Madagascar.
Aviation expert Victor Iannello believes one fragment, which appears to be from the interior floorboard, is consistent with a “high-speed impact”.

Malaysian and international investigators believe the jet veered thousands of miles off course from its scheduled route before eventually plunging into the Indian Ocean.
More than 30 bits of aircraft debris have been collected from various places around the world but only three wing fragments that washed up along the Indian Ocean coast have been confirmed to be from MH370.
In July, investigators released a 495-page report, saying the plane’s controls were likely deliberately manipulated to take it off course but they were not able to determine who was responsible.

New Year’s Eve weather forecast – could rain spoil your fireworks and will you need a coat?

Category : Explainers , News , UK News , Weather

BRITAIN is bracing itself for a three-month deep freeze in the New Year as forecasters warn that the Beast from the East is on its way.
But what’s the outlook for New Year’s Eve? Will rain dampen your celebrations? Here’s the latest weather report:
AP:Associated Press Thousands will watch the fireworks in London tomorrow night – but will they need to wrap-up warm?[/caption]
What’s the weather forecast for New Year’s Eve?
Revellers celebrating the turn of the New Year will want to wrap-up warm tomorrow night as parts of Britain could be hit by high winds.
Gusts of of up to 65mph are due in the west Highlands of Scotland, while rain is expected to lash northern England and freezing fog is forecast for the south as we move into the New Year.
However, overall, forecasters say most of the country will continue to enjoy balmy temperatures in double figures for the celebrations.
Those ringing in the New Year in London can expect to bask in 12 C tomorrow.
Met Office Tomorrow will be cloudy but mostly settled[/caption]
According to the Met Office, New Year’s Eve in the capital will be cloudy with patches of rain but brighter spells in the afternoon.
For those heading to the London Eye fireworks, AccuWeather meteorologists Kristina Pydynowski and Eric Leister wrote: “Those lucky enough to obtain a ticket or anyone viewing the display from a distance will not worry about needing an umbrella or heavy jacket.
“High pressure is expected to promote calm, dry weather throughout England on Monday evening. Low-hanging clouds may blanket London, and patchy fog can form if there are any breaks in the clouds earlier in the day or early evening.
“Between any fog and lack of wind to clear smoke, the fireworks display may not be as vibrant as many may hope.”
“Temperatures can be around 7 C (45 F) for the New Year’s Eve celebrations.”
In Newcastle, where hundreds of revellers are set to line the streets for the winter carnival and fireworks, temperatures are also set to be mild tomorrow – despite an increasing breeze. The Met Office said thermometers will reach 11C before freezing fog creeps in on New Year’s Day.
Rex Features People make an early start and enjoy the scenery at Arne in Dorset as much of the country has been experiencing mild weather[/caption]
In Scotland, revellers can expect “settled” weather this Hogmanay as thousands get set to descend on the streets of Edinburgh.
Met Office officials told how revellers may experience slight drizzles of rain but shouldn’t expect much more than breeze and mild temperatures.
Gregory Wolverson, of the Met Office, said: “The weather for this year’s Hogmanay celebrations is expected to be fairly settled; with it remaining mild for the time of year and mostly dry, although breezy at times.
“Tonight looks to be a nice evening for the Torchlight Procession with conditions staying mild, fairly breezy and perhaps just a few spots of drizzle.
“Hogmanay itself is also likely to be mostly dry, with a short period of light rain clearing up later in the evening, and mild for the time of year, but remember to bring some warm layers if you are outside all evening.

Coral spokesman Harry Aitkenhead said: “We didn’t get the White Christmas that many people were dreaming off but snow is on its way and we’ve slashed the odds on a White New Year.
“Edinburgh and Glasgow look the most likely to be bringing in the New Year with the white stuff but it’s a distinct possibility across England too.”

Fernandinho miraculously escapes serious injury after sickening Hojberg tackle that led to red card during Man City’s win over Southampton

FERNANDINHO was lucky to escape serious injury following a real X-rated challenge from Pierre-Emile Hojberg.
With Southampton 3-1 down to a resurgent Manchester City and with five minutes to go, Hojberg was shown a straight red by referee Paul Tierney.
This was the horror tackle from Pierre-Emile Hojberg on Man City midfielder Pierre-Emile HojbergReuters

Hojberg really could have ended a career with that tackle. Like, don’t do that.
— Mike L. Goodman (@TheM_L_G) December 30, 2018

It meant the 23-year-old Dane’s day ended on a sour note after he had earlier scored to level things up at 1-1.
But he can certainly have no complaints over his dismissal.
He aimed a scissor tackle at City’s Brazilian midfielder that will leave you wincing every time you watch it.
The only surprise was that Fernandinho wasn’t injured from it.

Moi Elyounoussi was absolutely terrible today – and Hojberg was really stupid getting that red card – how did we get so bad!? #saintsfc
— Richard Bennett (@RJBennett28) December 30, 2018

Incredibly the 33-year-old bounced back to his feet, incandescent at Hojberg.
The referee immediately separated the players and sent Hojberg walking down the tunnel early.
And there was a fair bit of criticism on social media for Saints’ midfielder.
Richard Bennett posted that Hojberg was “really stupid getting that red card”.

Courtney Wood, 19, suffered horrific injuries after an egg she prepared in a microwave exploded in her faceBPM Media
Recalling the frightening incident, Courtney told the Stoke Sentinel: “I had put some bacon under the grill and then I put an egg in a jug with a bit of water – as I have done before – and popped it in the microwave for a minute.

“When I turned back towards the jug the egg exploded in my face.”
Courtney called a friend who then drove her to A&EBPM Media
