Man stabbed after mass brawl on busy South Lanarkshire road as cops hunt eight hoodies over street rammy

A MAN was stabbed and rushed to hospital after a mass street brawl in Blantyre last night.
Cops raced to Wolcott Drive at around 6.55pm to reports of a street rammy involving six to eight men in hoodies.
The brawl happened on Wolcott Drive
Officers confirmed a 35-year-old man had been knifed and transferred to hospital.
His condition is described as stable.
Police believe the stabbing was “unprovoked” and have told how the victim was not involved in the fight.

Officers are now appealing for witnesses as they launch a hunt for the thugs involved.
Detective Constable Andrew Fearnside at Cambuslang CID said: “This would appear to be a totally unprovoked attack on a man who had nothing to do with the group of men who were fighting in the street.
