RJ Barrett shows off sick handles, drains stepback three-pointer (Video)

Category : Featured , NCAA

Duke forward R.J. Barrett is considered by many to be the best overall player that will likely be available in the 2019 NBA Draft, and he showed why during Tuesday’s game against Wake Forest.
Barrett received the ball on the wing during a play in the second half of the game, and that’s where he began to go to work on a defender. The Duke forward took his man off the dribble, then used a great stepback crossover move to buy plenty of space. Barrett then calmly drained a three-pointer, and actually made the play look routine — even though it clearly was not.
Few other big men at the NBA level — let alone college — could pull that off as smoothly as Barrett did.

LeBron James exits Warriors game with groin injury

Category : Featured , Lakers , NBA

LeBron James is known for his durability, but he was forced to exit the Christmas Day game against the Warriors, after suffering a groin injury in the third quarter.
It happened when he was dribbling the ball into the lane and slipped on the court. James was clearly in pain as he got up and began walking around on the baseline. The Lakers then called a timeout so he could talk to trainers, and it appears that James told them ” I heard something pop” during that time. He then made his way off the court to the locker room for further examination.

The Lakers announced James suffered a strained left groin, and that he was questionable to return to the game.

The injury didn’t appear to be too serious, but the Lakers will likely take extra precautions with their superstar, rather than rushing him back on the court.

Damian Lillard brings custom leg lamp to game as 'A Christmas Story' tribute

There were a lot of great pregame looks by NBA players on Christmas Day, but none of them were as good as what we saw from one particular player before the final game of the night tipped off.
James Harden rocked a neon-colored, Grinch-like suit, while Lonzo Ball went with a more traditional look, wearing a Big Baller Brand Christmas sweater.
But Blazers guard Damian Lillard really won the day.
Lillard rolled into Vivint Smart Home Arena for the game against the Jazz with a lamp that was made to look like his leg, complete with a sneaker and all. It was a tribute to the leg lamp from the 1983 cult classic film, “A Christmas Story.”

Props to Lillard for thinking outside the box to embrace the holiday spirit.

Watch: Stefon Diggs surprises mother with new car for Christmas

Category : Featured , NFL , Vikings

Vikings receiver Stefon Diggs spared no expense in a Christmas gift for a person that’s close to his heart.
Diggs spent Christmas with some of his family members, including his mother. She was the recipient of a rather large and expensive gift, courtesy of her son. He posted a video of her coming out of her house on Christmas, with a brand-new Mercedes-Benz SUV waiting for her. The look on her face, as well as the excitement on it, was priceless, as you can see in the video below.

You get 1 mom… here’s something for the lady that put up with all my craziness. Merry Christmas everyone pic.twitter.com/tfGLD4WQxY
— DIGGS (@stefondiggs) December 25, 2018

Diggs even put a red bow on the vehicle to top it all off. He seemed to really brighten his mother’s day, which was great to see.

Look: Lonzo Ball rocks Big Baller Brand Christmas sweater before Warriors game

Category : Featured , Lakers , NBA

Lakers point guard Lonzo Ball choice to keep it in the family, essentially, as it related to his pregame attire on Christmas Day.
The Lakers were preparing to square off against the Warriors, in arguably their biggest game of the season, so Ball took full advantage of the opportunity to be noticed. He rolled into Oracle Arena wearing a Big Baller Brand Christmas sweater, as you can see in the photos shown below.

Lonzo's getting in the Christmas spirit, Big Baller-style. pic.twitter.com/g3Krjq5aGr

The design was intricate, and we’re big fans of the color scheme. The flashy sweater delivered on all fronts, and Ball was looking festive, rather than Grinch-like.

Anthony Davis throws down one-handed alley-oop (Video)

Category : Featured , NBA , Pelicans

Pelicans big man Anthony Davis continues to push the envelope, and he produces highlight-reel plays that few other players can pull off nearly every time he steps foot on the court.
Davis put on a show for the fans at Staples Center, a venue he could possibly be suiting up to play home games in next season.
Lakers fans got a taste of what could be to come in the first half, when he received a lob pass from Jrue Holiday and slammed the ball home with one hand.

That was one of the more impressive alley-oops we’ve seen so far this season.

Jaylen Brown stares Giannis Antetokounmpo down after dunking on him (Video)

Category : Bucks , Featured , NBA , Take a Look

Jaylen Brown showed no fear in challenging one of the most dominant interior defenders in the NBA during Friday’s game.
The Celtics trailed the Bucks for nearly the entirety of the game, but Brown gave the fans at TD Garden something to cheer about in the fourth quarter. He set up on the perimeter, then drove the lane — blowing by Bucks guard Malcolm Brogdon in the process. He was challenged by Giannis Antetokounmpo at the rim, but rather than adjusting his shot, Brown dunked all over the Greek Freak.
Brown let Antetokounmpo know about it afterward, too, as he gave his counterpart a pretty epic staredown.

Brown was hit with a technical for staring Antetokounmpo down, but that certainly didn’t take away from the highlight-reel dunk.

Travis Kelce gifted Chiefs QBs, TEs Versace robes

Category : Chiefs , Featured , NFL , Trending Now

Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce has already set career highs in receptions (93), receiving yards (1,220) and touchdowns (10) with two regular-season games left to play, and he recently gave back to some of his teammates that helped him do so.
Kelce bought the Chiefs quarterbacks and tight ends a holiday gift, and he spared no expense in doing so. He bought each of them a Versace robe, and told reporters on Friday “that was probably the best gift I’ve given in a long time.” You can see a photo of what one of the robes looks like below.

There’s a Versace box on the floor in front of Demetrius Harris’ locker. Turns out it’s a gift from Travis Kelce.

The robes retail for $595 apiece, and they appear to be one of the more stylish holiday gifts we’ve seen a player buy for their teammates.

Russell Westbrook taunts Hawks after getting into it with Vince Carter (Video)

Category : Featured , NBA , Take a Look , Thunder

Thunder point guard Russell Westbrook has been known to get into heated altercations with opposing players and fans during games, and Friday’s matchup with the Hawks was no different.
Westbrook was seen jawing at Hawks veteran forward Vince Carter after one particular play in the third quarter of the game. The ball rolled out of bounds, and a Hawks player seated on the bench tossed it toward Westbrook. That didn’t go over well with Westbrook, who threw it back in disgust. He then had some words with Carter, and the two were hit with technical fouls.
That wasn’t the end of the exchange, though. Westbrook hit a tough fadeaway jumper on the play that followed, then pointed right at the Hawks bench and did his signature “rock the baby” gesture to rub it in.

Russ and Vince both get T'd up and jaw at each other.

Westbrook is always worth the price of admission.

Watch: Luka Doncic blocks LeBron James twice on same play

Category : Featured , Mavericks , NBA , Trending Now

Mavericks rookie sensation Luka Doncic continues to amaze nearly every time he steps foot on the court.
Doncic scored 20 points on an efficient 6-of-11 shooting in Wednesday’s win over the Rockets, and he followed that up with a stunning feat in Friday’s game against the Lakers.
The Mavericks’ young star may be only 19 years old, standing six-feet-seven, but he managed to block LeBron James twice on the same possession during the game. James received a bounce pass and appeared to have an easy layup, but Doncic denied him at the rim. The ball fell in James’ hands, and he went up again. Doncic, however, blocked that shot attempt, too.

It’s hard to imagine that any player in the league — let alone a rookie — could stop James from scoring on that play. Doncic is a special player, though.
