DANIELLE KANG admitted she was a lucky pucker – after her caddie saved her from a “temper tantrum” on her way to just her second-ever victory.
America’s world No29 celebrated by kissing a weird trophy for a photo she might enjoy far less than her dramatic triumph in the inaugural £1.6million LPGA Shanghai event.

And she needed stiff words from her caddie halfway through the final round before four crucial birdies in the last nine holes.
Kang, who was 26 on Saturday, came two shots clear of seven players, including New Zealand’s ex-world No1 Lydia Ko, who surged into contention with a fourth-day 66.
But Kang’s 69 sealed her triumph on a 13-under-par 275 total at the windy Qizhong Garden Golf Club.
And she revealed her caddie’s key advice when “after nine holes I had a temper tantrum”.

The California star, a Major winner in 2017 at the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship, said: “He told me to go off to the side, and we did.
“‘Hit the bag, do whatever you need to do to let your anger out and start a new nine’. “That’s what I did.”
Kang was calmer and stronger after that.

Yet she confessed she has been in nervous turmoil for months.
She said: “I’ve had some anxiety problems.
“I’ve been through so much just mental struggle that it’s just been emotionally draining all year.
“”I’m just finally happy and just working on my game properly.”

And Kang was equally open when asked to explain her record of only two victories in seven years on the tour.
She said: “I had to go through swing changes. I had the swing yips, the putting yips, to everything possibly you could think of.
“Overcoming the mentality of the anxiety you feel over the shots, it’s so much that golf does to you.”
Now Kang must hope her Shanghai triumph can give the kiss-off to her past blues.
She added: “You know, I’m just so happy to be where I’m at today. I’m just happy that I won.”
