Pacers fans taunt JaVale McGee, Brandon Ingram with funny chant during game (Video)

Category : Lakers , NBA , pacers , Trending Now

The Pacers absolutely destroyed the Lakers on Tuesday night, clearly sending a message to the team that has been doing its best to pull off a power move for Pelicans big man Anthony Davis, spearheaded by LeBron James and superagent Rich Paul.
James only played 30 minutes in the game, as he and his teammates found themselves down 23 points at halftime. It was a blowout no matter how you slice it, and there was plenty of trolling by Pacers fans at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.
At one point, just minutes into the game, fans began chanting “LeBron’s gonna trade you” at Brandon Ingram, when he was at the line to attempt a pair of free throws.

JaVale McGee got similar treatment, except it was the opposite message.
“Not worth trading!” they yelled

”NOT WORTH TRADING”
…Pacers fans were ruthless tonight.

LeBron James exits Warriors game with groin injury

Category : Featured , Lakers , NBA

LeBron James is known for his durability, but he was forced to exit the Christmas Day game against the Warriors, after suffering a groin injury in the third quarter.
It happened when he was dribbling the ball into the lane and slipped on the court. James was clearly in pain as he got up and began walking around on the baseline. The Lakers then called a timeout so he could talk to trainers, and it appears that James told them ” I heard something pop” during that time. He then made his way off the court to the locker room for further examination.

The Lakers announced James suffered a strained left groin, and that he was questionable to return to the game.

The injury didn’t appear to be too serious, but the Lakers will likely take extra precautions with their superstar, rather than rushing him back on the court.

Look: Lonzo Ball rocks Big Baller Brand Christmas sweater before Warriors game

Category : Featured , Lakers , NBA

Lakers point guard Lonzo Ball choice to keep it in the family, essentially, as it related to his pregame attire on Christmas Day.
The Lakers were preparing to square off against the Warriors, in arguably their biggest game of the season, so Ball took full advantage of the opportunity to be noticed. He rolled into Oracle Arena wearing a Big Baller Brand Christmas sweater, as you can see in the photos shown below.

The design was intricate, and we’re big fans of the color scheme. The flashy sweater delivered on all fronts, and Ball was looking festive, rather than Grinch-like.

Lance Stephenson hilariously taunts Miles Bridges with air guitar gesture (Video)

Category : Lakers , NBA

Lakers swingman Lance Stephenson may be a veteran, but his troll game hasn’t diminished one bit.
Stephenson has treated fans to some hilarious moments over the years, including blowing in LeBron James’ ear in the playoffs, and he did exactly that during Saturday’s game against the Hornets.
Stephenson drained a three-pointer in the third quarter of the game, and he turned toward the Hornets’ bench — as well as Miles Bridges — and played an air guitar.

Lance pulled out the air guitar in Miles Bridges face and got a technical pic.twitter.com/3Yg3cQwcP4

The officials didn’t seem to appreciate it, as Stephenson was hit with a technical foul for his actions. Still, we thoroughly enjoyed it, though.

Tyson Chandler chose to join Lakers over Warriors

Category : Featured , Featured Story , Lakers , NBA

Last week, the Los Angeles Lakers made the acquisition of veteran big man Tyson Chandler after he was bought out of the final year of his deal with the Phoenix Suns.
It was a move for Chandler that he had a handful of teams interested in his services on the open market. According to Ryan Ward of ClutchPoints, the 36-year-old voiced that he chose to join Los Angeles over the Golden State Warriors.

Tyson Chandler says there were 5 teams in the running for his services. He narrowed his options to the #Warriors and #Lakers. Then chose LA.
— Ryan Ward (@RyanWardLA) November 13, 2018

In his first three games with the Lakers, Chandler has been a major asset off the bench for the team by averaging 3.0 points, 8.3 rebounds, 1.3 blocks, and 1.0 steal in 22.6 minutes per game. He has been able to lead Los Angeles once each in rebounds, steals, and blocks. His play has been huge in the frontcourt especially late in games with his stable play on the glass and in the paint in key moments.
This has seen him start it off with two key pivotal offensive rebounds in the final minute of the 114-110 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves that were tapped out to his teammates that kept the possession alive that kept his team ahead. He had been able to seal the win by being able to close out on a 3-pointer attempt from Derrick Rose that changed the trajectory of his shot.
He was able to follow that up with a game-changing play in last Sunday’s 107-106 win over the Atlanta Hawks where he able to get his fingertips on a potentially game-winning layup by rookie point guard Trae Young in the final seconds of the fourth quarter. Chandler also chipped in with a team-high 12 rebounds in last Saturday’s 101-86 win over the Sacramento Kings.
Chandler has a chance to provide a highly impactful role for the Lakers both on and off the court over the rest of the season.

Watch: Lonzo Ball throws half-court alley-oop to LeBron James

Category : Featured , Lakers , NBA , Updates

It was predicted that LeBron James and Lonzo Ball would hook up on a number of highlight-reel plays now that they’re teammates, especially once they begin to develop chemistry with one another.
Sure enough, that’s exactly what happened during Saturday’s game against the Kings.
Ball slowly dribbled the basketball up the court in the third quarter of the game, waiting for his teammate to get closer to the basket. Then, just before crossing midcourt, he threw a perfect lob toward the basket, and James slammed it home.

NBA Rumors: 2019 free agents don't want to be 'LeBron's caddy'

Category : Featured , Lakers , NBA , Updates

Following the acquisition of LeBron James in free agency this past summer, the Los Angeles Lakers have positioned themselves to once again be players in the free agent market next offseason.
It is set to be a market full of plenty of premier talent that could see the Lakers make a big splash to add to the mix next James and their young core group. However, a rival NBA executive has voiced that none of these top talent pending free agents don’t want to be the second banana to the four-time league MVP, according to Howard Beck of Bleacher Report.
And yet one rival executive calls the Clippers “the most attractive free-agent situation of all of them, because none of the available free agents want to be LeBron’s caddy. And they can become the greatest player in the history of a franchise in an unbelievable market with the wealthiest owner in the league. Why would that not thrill you?”
It may be quite early in the process, there could be some credence to this sentiment as it has seen reports stating that All-Star forward Jimmy Butler had no desire to join the Lakers in free agency next summer due to that reasoning.
This notion may be fueled by these players wanting to be the top scoring option and core piece to the puzzle for whatever franchise that they choose to join. The Lakers won’t have that opportunity given that James would be in place.
That said, this is something that could quickly change if the Lakers show that there is a bright future ahead with the trajectory of winning an NBA title. There is still plenty of time for things to change over the next several months with the Lakers being firmly in the picture to land a superstar talent in free agency next summer.

LeBron James passes Dirk Nowitzki for 6th on all-time scoring list

Category : Featured , Lakers , NBA

LeBron James has put together an illustrious career that has him achieve many impressive individual feats along the way.
James added yet another one to his resume on Saturday night as he passed Dallas Mavericks forward Dirk Nowitzki for sixth on the NBA all-time scoring list.

— Los Angeles Lakers (@Lakers) October 28, 2018

The 33-year-old accomplished this feat with 7:51 left in the 3rd quarter on a fadeaway jumper from the right baseline surpassing him Nowitzki, who currently has 31,187 points to name on Saturday night.
Next on the list is Hall of Famer and former Lakers great Wilt Chamberlain, who has 31,419 career points, which he will likely surpass at some point this season in the coming weeks. Meanwhile, Hall of Famer Michael Jordan is also within reach this year as he’s sitting at 32,292, which is a mark he should likely hit at some point late in the season.
James has been off to a strong start to his first campaign with Los Angeles having scored 20 or more points in five out of the first six games played. He entered Saturday’s tilt against the Spurs averaging 25.8 points, 9.2 assists, and 8.6 rebounds per game. He is also coming off his first career triple-double with the Lakers in Thursday’s 121-114 win over the Denver Nuggets.

Kobe Bryant eyeing LeBron James courtside sparks great memes

Category : Lakers , NBA

It didn’t take Lakers legend Kobe Bryant long to take in a game and watch the team’s newest acquisition — whom he’s been compared to — in action.
The Lakers were coming off their first win of the season, as the team defeated the Suns on Wednesday to move to a 1-3 record. And now that they got their first win out of the way, it was time for LeBron James and Co. to show the fans at Staples Center that they were officially out of their slump.
They squared off against the Nuggets on Thursday, and Kobe actually showed up to watch James in person for the first time since he joined the Lakers. It resulted in some great camera shots/moments.

We wonder if the pressure from Kobe affected James during the game. It’s not easy playing under the bright lights at Staples Center as is, with one of the greatest to ever play the game analyzing and scrutinizing your plays.

Paul George indicates that 'some people have a hard time playing' with LeBron James

Category : Featured , Lakers , NBA

Since Paul George made the decision to bypass free agency altogether to re-sign with the Oklahoma City Thunder, the move has been scrutinized as for the reasoning behind it.
One of the possible factors that have been floated around was that star forward LeBron James has been difficult to play alongside on the court due to his playing style. With that in mind, George touched upon that topic vaguely stating that some players around the league have a hard time being able to do just that, according to Royce Young of ESPN.
“You could say that about a lot of guys,” George says. “LeBron is the best player in our league, but some people have a hard time playing with him. One thing you can’t say about Russ is that he’s not ready or he’s not prepared. That’s him every night.”
This response from George will only fuel the speculation that this was one of the reasons that he chose to not even truly consider joining the Lakers in free agency as he didn’t even meet with any team as his new deal with the Thunder was announced just prior to the start of the free agency period during the summer.
This type of talk has been floating around James over the last couple of years with Kyrie Irving voicing to the Cleveland Cavaliers that he wanted a trade. Then the conversation typically shifts over to him being unable to get any player to join him in free agency over in Cleveland.
Nonetheless, these comments from George do bring another perspective as to why he may have decided to forgo free agency altogether. This is simply a topic that will continue to linger until the Lakers are able to land another big name player in free agency that will change that growing narrative entirely.
