BREAKING: Triple H Suffers Injury During ‘WWE Crown Jewel’ Match

Triple H and Shawn Michaels reunited in a winning effort against The Undertaker and Kane at Crown Jewel. The match was the main event of course and saw WWE’s four legends come together for a sellout crowd in Saudi Arabia.
But unfortunately, it appears that Triple H came out of Crown Jewel much worse for wear. According to WWE, The Game has apparently suffered a torn pectoral muscle. Hunter is expected to return to the states for surgery.
The match between D-Generation X and The Brothers of Destruction was both extremely physical and highly intense. Fans in attendance responded overwhelmingly positive to the bout, which may have surprised some critics.

Crown Jewel also saw AJ Styles retain his WWE Championship against Samoa Joe. The Bar retained the SmackDown Tag Team Championships against The New Day and Brock Lesnar became the new Universal champion after beating Braun Strowman.
One of the biggest surprises of the night took place when Shane McMahon won the World Cup Tournament. McMahon was at ringside during the tournament final between The Miz and Dolph Ziggler when Miz was supposedly injured outside of the ring. Rather than forfeit the match for SmackDown Live, Shane stepped in for the injured A-Liser and won the cup for the blue brand.

WWE News: Major 'Crown Jewel' Update, The Undertaker Announced For Rare Events In The UK

As we reported on Wednesday night, WWE has been aggressively scouting new locations for the upcoming Crown Jewel PPV should the company decide to scrap current plans to travel to Saudi Arabia for the event taking place on November 2nd in Riyadh. As of earlier this week, it had been rumored that both John Cena and Daniel Bryan notified WWE officials they do not intend to make the trip for Crown Jewel, putting several of the show’s top matches in jeopardy.
According to a new report by PWInsider, while tickets have yet to go on sale for the PPV in Riyadh, the first set of WWE officials remain scheduled to travel to Saudi Arabia within the next day. The rest of the WWE crew will be traveling to the country following the next set of TV tapings, so as of this writing, it appears as if everyone in WWE remains under the impression that the event is taking place as advertised in Saudi Arabia.

It’s also worth noting that WWE announced a new title match for Crown Jewel on Smackdown Live this week, with The New Day set to challenge The Bar in a rematch for the WWE Smackdown Tag Team Titles. With WWE adding yet another title match to the event, and officials searching for a possible “plan B” location for the PPV, it appears as if WWE has no plans to scrap the event altogether, and should the event not take place in Saudi Arabia, it will most certainly take place at another venue, likely in The United States.

In other WWE news, Inside The Ropes has announced a three-show tour, titled Rise of The Taker, will be taking place in The UK in 2019.

The shows will take place on April 30th in London, England, on May 1st in Glasgow, Scotland, and on May 2nd in Manchester, England.
The events will feature a rare sit-down style show with The Undertaker discussing his storied WWE career, amongst other topics. The three-night stand in The UK will be yet another rare out-of-character appearance for The Undertaker, as he most recently participated in a shoot-style interview with Pastor Ed Young for the Sunday Series.

WWE Responds To Report Of Talents Uncomfortable About Traveling To Saudi Arabia For 'Crown Jewel'

As pressure continues to mount against WWE to rethink its upcoming Crown Jewel event in Saudi Arabia, given the events of the past two weeks, WWE is still moving forward with the planned PPV in Riyadh, with build towards the show continuing on Raw this week.

RelatedWWE Being Pressured By United States Senators To 'Rethink' Saudi Arabia Event
It does appear, however, as if WWE is distancing itself from mentioning the name Saudi Arabia, as the company made no mention of the Crown Jewel event taking place in the country on this week’s episode of Raw. Furthermore, there are very brief references made to the country on WWE.com’s advertisements for the event, which takes place at The King Saud University Stadium, and will be headlined by DX vs The Undertaker and Kane.

According to a new report by Sports Illustrated, numerous WWE stars, acting under the condition of anonymity, have admitted they are not happy with the idea of traveling to Saudi Arabia given the current climate, and the report adds “multiple members of the WWE talent roster have expressed discomfort with the idea of performing in Saudi Arabia, especially given the nation’s poor record with human rights.”
The New York Post later published a follow-up to the SI report, which contained the following statement from WWE on the notion of Superstars feeling uncomfortable traveling to Saudi Arabia.
“As always, we maintain an open line of communication with our performers as we continue to monitor the situation.”

Most recently, more members of the mainstream media and entertainment world have picked up on WWE running Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia, with John Oliver taking WWE to task for its ongoing relationship with the country, and the current status of the event taking place on November 2nd.
Despite the above, it appears as if WWE will not be halted by the increasing call to nix the Crown Jewel event, even in the face of top companies such as UFC, and executives such as Dara Khosrowshahi of Uber, Jamie Dimon of J.P. Morgan Chase and Bill Ford of Ford Motor, all announcing they have canceled upcoming events in Saudi Arabia.

WWE Downplaying Saudi Arabia's Involvement In 'Crown Jewel'

WWE Crown Jewel is set to take place on November 2. But as pro wrestling fans are now surely aware, the event has been mired in controversy. That’s due in large part to Crown Jewel‘s location.
Saudi Arabia is the host nation for Crown Jewel but the government is now under a cloud of suspicion thanks to a journalist’s disappearance and possible assassination. The journalist in question is Jamal Khashoggi. Khashoggi worked for the Washington Post and has been an outspoken critic of the Saudi government. Now that he’s disappeared, many believe the Saudi government is behind it.

Now it appears that the company has decided to downplay Saudi Arabia’s involvement. WWE.com has pulled all references to Saudi Arabia from its Crown Jewel page. While this does not mean the event is changing locations, the move does seem to be an effort to quieten any negative publicity.

The story is ongoing of course and WWE has indeed been monitoring the situation. But according to PWInsider, Crown Jewel will not change locations. This may or may not come as a surprise to fans that have been following the story but sources in WWE evidently claim Saudi Arabia will still host Crown Jewel.
Crown Jewel will feature the in-ring return of Shawn Michaels as he teams with D-Generation X co-founder Triple H against The Undertaker and Kane. Roman Reigns will defend the WWE Universal Championship against Braun Strowman and Brock Lesnar. The WWE Championship will also be on the line when AJ Styles defends the title against Daniel Bryan.

WWE will also introduce the first ever World Cup at Crown Jewel. The World Cup Tournament will be decided at the event and the qualifying matches are currently taking place on SmackDown Live.
WWE has yet to make any further announcements concerning Crown Jewel‘s status. The Floor Seat will continue to follow the story as it develops.

WATCH: Rare Undertaker Out-Of-Character Fan Interaction Following WWE 'Super Show-Down'

WWE legend The Undertaker made his highly anticipated return to the ring at the Super Show-Down PPV in Melbourne, Australia last week, and fell to his longtime rival Triple H in a match which was billed as the “Last Time Ever” between the two Superstars.
Despite The Game picking up the win in the match, the war between The Cerebral Assassin and The Dead Man wages on, as the two will next meet in a tag team match at WWE Crown Jewel taking place on November 2nd in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The Undertaker will team up with his Brothers of Destruction partner Kane to face the team of Triple H and a returning Shawn Michaels.

A new video has surfaced on YouTube featuring an out-of-character Undertaker making his way through the airport in Australia on his way back to The United States following the Super Show-Down event, and during the video The Dead Man stops and takes some time to interact with a WWE fan. This is a rare move by The Undertaker, who typically keeps his real-life persona hidden from fans in order to protect his WWE character. You can watch the entire fan-captured video in the player above.

With The Undertaker’s next WWE match scheduled to take place at Crown Jewel, there has been speculation that a singles match between The Phenom and Shawn Michaels might be in the works, with some sources rumoring the bout could take place next year at WrestleMania 35 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

On a related note, amidst mounting tension between The United States and Saudi Arabia following the disappearance and possible murder of Washington Post columnist Jamal Khashoggi, the Knox County, Tennessee Mayor’s office has confirmed Kane remains scheduled to compete at Crown Jewel as advertised, and will not be removing himself from the event card.

Mayor's Office Reveals Kane's Status For 'WWE Crown Jewel' Amidst Saudi Arabia Tension

Amidst the growing tension between The United States Congress and Saudi Arabia, WWE has a planned Crown Jewel event scheduled for November 2nd in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, at which The Undertaker and Kane are scheduled to face the reuniting team of Triple H and Shawn Michaels.
Kane, real name Glenn Jacobs, is also the current Mayor of Knox County, Tennessee, and WWE recently donated $100,000 to the Knoxville Public Safety Foundation in exchange for Kane’s participation at upcoming WWE events including Crown Jewel and next Tuesday night’s Smackdown 1,000 special.

Following this week’s news of the disappearance and possible murder of Washington Post columnist Jamal Khashoggi, WWE has faced mounting pressure from United States Senators to “pause” and possibly cancel the upcoming Crown Jewel event to follow suit with possible changes in U.S. foreign policy and relations as it pertains to Saudi Arabia.

According to a new report published by Knox News, Mayor Glenn Jacobs’ spokesman Rob Link noted that Kane’s plans to wrestle at Crown Jewel remain unchanged. “Mayor Jacobs won’t speculate on Mr. Khashoggi’s disappearance,” Link said. “However, he and his family are in the mayor’s thoughts and prayers.”

Senator Bob Corker is the latest to express his belief that Khashoggi has been murdered, and that the Saudi Arabian government is responsible for the death, although he did acknowledge it is possible another entity is responsible for his death. “Everything that I’ve seen points to the Saudis … We have no evidence that points anywhere but to them,” said Corker.
In addition to Mayor Glenn Jacobs’ office confirming the Mayor still intends to wrestle in Saudi Arabia next month, WWE issued a statement on Thursday indicating that the event is still scheduled to take place, and that the company is “currently monitoring the situation”. In the wake of the recent Saudi Arabian backlash, several high-profile companies have already pulled out of major events scheduled to take place in the country, with The New York Times cancelling its appearance at Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s Vision 2030 initiative.

The finale of WWE Super Show-Down this past Saturday saw The Brothers of Destruction, The Undertaker and Kane, lay waste to Triple H and Shawn Michaels after the four legends celebrated in the ring following the main event bout between The Game and The Dead Man.

WWE.com has since announced both Triple H and Shawn Michaels will be appearing on Raw tonight to address the Super Show-Down post-match attack, and the announcement reads as follows:
One last time. At WWE Super Show-Down, Triple H conquered The Undertaker in their No Disqualification Match that shattered a table, bent steel and pushed both longtime rivals to their limits.
With both Shawn Michaels and Kane entering the battle and taking full advantage of the lenient stipulation, the WWE Universe bore witness as four of the most iconic Superstars of all time made history Down Under in an incredible main event. However, as Triple H showed his respect for his defeated opponent after the bell, both The Deadman and The Big Red Machine lashed out at The Game and HBK in a horrific display.
Tonight on Raw, The Game and HBK will react to the heinous assault at the hands of The Brothers of Destruction.
