Marcus Rashford in shock £100m transfer as Real Madrid look to sign Man Utd ace before he signs new deal

While his teammate Anthony Martial has agreed a new five-year deal, Rashford wants to wait before making any decisions.
SunSport revealed in November how Real had been in contact with Rashford’s camp.
The 21–year-old was then open to a possible move abroad as he grew unhappy under the regime of Jose Mourinho.
He was not getting a chance in his favoured striking role through the middle and was ready to consider the option of a move abroad.

His mood has changed under interim boss Ole Solskjaer but Real have continued to keep the lines of communication open with Rashford’s camp.
They have guaranteed him that he would be their number one striker and would top any contract offer United are ready to give him.
Rashford’s current deal earns him £60,000 a week and lasts until the end of next season with an option for the club to extend it by a further year.
But United want him on a longer deal and would be willing to more than triple his wages to £200,000 a week.

While Solskjaer has done great work in a short time with Rashford a different manager might have different ideas on how to play him or bring in another striker he prefers.
Rashford has scored five goals in seven starts under Solskjaer although he was guilty of a glaring early miss in United’s 2-2 home draw with Burnley on Tuesday night.
He clipped that ninth minute chance to open the scoring wide before Burnley went on to establish a two goals lead.

United produced a stirring late fight back to grab a point but the result brought to an end Solskjaer’s winning run since taking over as interim boss which had stretched to eight games.
After the game Paul Pogba admitted that the team had probably been too complacent.
Pogba said: ‘I think we played like we were winning maybe 1-0 or 2-0 and that’s why the result was like that.
‘We are disappointed with ourselves because the way that we played when we conceded the second goal, we should have started like that and the game would be different.
“You have to learn from your mistakes and next time I think we need to start the game differently. That’s it.’

Arsenal are at a massive disadvantage to Juventus in battle to sign Manchester United star Juan Mata

JUVENTUS are keen on bringing Manchester United’s Juan Mata to the club as uncertainty over the Spaniard’s future at Old Trafford continues to grow.
The 30-year-old is out-of-contract at the end of the season and could leave for nothing.
Mata’s future at United looks uncertainReuters
Mata is free to speak to overseas clubs from the start of January, giving Juve a jump-start on any Premier League rivals for his signature.
Arsenal have been linked with having an interest with Unai Emery keen to reunite with Mata following their spell together at Valencia.
But according to the Evening Standard they will face competition from the Serie A champions who are looking to make Mata their latest free agent signing.
Max Allegri’s side lured Emre Can away from Liverpool last summer and have previously secured moves for Frenchman Patrice Evra, Germany World Cup winner Sami Khedira and Brazil’s Dani Alves.

With just four starts in their 10 Premier League games this season, Mata remains an often overlooked figure at Old Trafford.
Jose Mourinho’s arrival at United in the summer of 2016 was expected to trigger the exit of the Spain international – who was offloaded by the Portuguese coach at Chelsea – and though Mata has stayed his opportunities have not improved.
Reports last month suggested United were nonetheless keen on beginning talks regarding a new deal with Mata and his agent and father, Juan Snr.
At the start of the year, United triggered an option to extend Mata’s contract by 12 months and Mourinho spoke in glowing terms regarding the playmaker.
Emery worked with Mata for three years at Valencia.Getty Images – Getty
“Mata is very important,” he said. “He is another one, big story when I arrived one and a half years ago – ‘Mata in trouble, in trouble, in trouble’.
“Now he’s getting an extension of one more year. (He is) an important player for me, an important player for the club, an important player for the other players.”
Though Arsenal are down the pecking order, Emery and Mata’s previous relationship could yet prove decisive should talks ever reach an advanced stage.
Mata worked under the tactician from 2008-2010 and speaking in an authorised autobiography about Emery lavished praise on his coaching methods.

“I think what’s special about Unai is the way he communicates,” Mata said in Unai Emery: El Maestro.
“In his talks, he used to write three, four or five things on the board: those were the points he was going to bring up.
“Sometimes it was five phrases or metaphors he was going to explain. I’ve never seen that with my other managers.
“They usually revolved around phrases about positivity, camaraderie, the values he wanted to create in his team.

“He communicated by means of the points he had written down.
“His talks could go on and on because he didn’t notice the time, but what he said was always intense, and he would ask you questions. It became a kind of seminar.”

Manchester United to make ‘dizzying offer’ to sign Atletico Madrid star Lucas Hernandez

MANCHESTER UNITED have reportedly made a huge offer to Atletico Madrid for star Lucas Hernandez.
Jose Mourinho was desperate for a centre-half over the summer failed to land any of his defensive targets.
Manchester United have made a ‘dizzying offer’ for Atletico Madrid’s Lucas HernandezEPA
Now Marca claim the Red Devils have table a “dizzying offer” for Atletico’s Frenchman, who has a £70m release clause.
And it is also claimed they told Lucas they are willing to double his wages to move to Old Trafford.
Neighbours Manchester City and Champions League holders Real Madrid are both also keen.
The 22-year-old can play either central or left of the defence and is believed to be open to leaving the La Liga outfit.

Lucas Hernandez could have a big decision to make on his future in JanuaryGetty
Lucas broke into Atletico’s first-team back in 2014 and has become one of Diego Someone’s most trusted lieutenants.
And he seemed happy to stay in the summer when quizzed over his future, revealing he had rejected Real’s advances.

ONE IN A MIL Jose watches Serbia beat Montenegro in Milinkovic-Savic scouting mission

Lucas said: “I didn’t listen to it much. I was 100 percent committed to my club and also had just renewed my contract.
“My agent told me and as soon as he said Madrid were interested I said I couldn’t do it.

“Atletico are my city, my club, they have given me everything. I am an honest person and I couldn’t go to Madrid.”
But Mourinho is believed to be confident of prising the ace away from the Spanish capital and bringing him to England.
And with his leaky defence conceding 14 goals so far this season, he has already told club chiefs Lucas is his main January target.
The United manager was spotted in Serbia last night watching Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic bag an assist in the victory over Montenegro last night.

Arsenal news: Juventus join Chelsea and Liverpool in race for Aaron Ramsey as they prepare January offer

CHELSEA and Liverpool will reportedly have to fight it out with Juventus for Arsenal star Aaron Ramsey.
The Welsh midfielder will be a free agent in May when his contract at The Emirates expires.
Juventus have joined the chase for Aaron RamseyGetty
Maurizio Sarri’s Blues and Jurgen Klopp’s Reds were believed to be the front runners for the 27-year-old after Arsenal withdraw their offer of a new extension.
Now the Daily Mail claim the Italian giants have entered the chase.
And they hold a key advantage over their rivals in the pursuit for Ramsey.
Due to being abroad, they will be able to begin talks and offer him a lucrative pre-contract package as early as January.
Aaron Ramsey will become a free agent in May and can sign a pre-contract agreement with a foreign club from JanuaryGetty
The midfielder is currently on international duty with Wales preparing to face Spain tonightGetty Images
And with no transfer fee needed, Ramsey could easily command a deal of around £250,000-a-week.
The ace’s unwillingness to move his young family overseas had led many to believe it was Chelsea and Liverpool leading the hunt.

PARIS MATCH Wenger could be returning to football with top PSG job

But The Mail’s report states Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri is a huge fan of the ex-Cardiff City ace.
And the prospect of silverware while returning to the Champions League could just be enough to convince Ramsey to begin a new chapter in Turin.
