Major security alert at Wigan jail after search uncovers bomb-making kit and kill list
A MAJOR security alert was sparked at a jail when “bomb-making equipment and a kill list” were found in a cell.
Anti-terror cops were called in after a search uncovered wires, circuit boards and foil blankets following a tip-off.

A police spokesperson said: “Police were called shortly before 6pm to HMP Hindley on Saturday 1 December 2018, to reports that suspicious items were found in a cell.
“Specialist police officers attended and deemed the items were not suspicious.”
There was also a list of names, suspected to be targets.

A source said: “The potential threat was taken seriously.
“But anti-terror police checked out the hoard and decided that it wasn’t a threat.”
A man was moved to a “separation unit” at Hindley prison, Wigan.
