BBC veteran John Humphrys is set to exit Radio 4’s Today Show after 32 years

Category : Celebrity , TV & Showbiz

JOHN Humphrys is set to exit Radio 4’s Today show after 32 years.
The Beeb veteran, 75, has hinted to chiefs he will leave in the autumn.
Mark Harrison – The Times Forthright Today Show host John Humphrys says he is ‘assuming’ he will leave the Beeb this year[/caption]
Yet he signed a new deal just five months ago that was expected to run until at least 2021.
John, yet to hand in his notice, said of his impending departure: “I’m assuming it will be this year.
“That’s what I’m assuming but I haven’t fixed a date.”
Speaking to the Daily Mail, he added: “It’s not easy to leave a job you’ve been doing for 32 years. It’s more than half my professional life.”
BBC Known for his tenacious pursuit of answers, Humphrys recently faced tough questions himself over his comments on the gender pay gap[/caption]

A senior Beeb source told The Sun: “John has been very open that at 75 he knows he won’t be able to carry on hosting Today for ever. But right now he is enjoying what he is doing.
“He has no immediate plans to walk away and hasn’t told those in charge he’s looking to leave.
However, he has a great relationship with those around him and would never pretend he plans to stay on indefinitely. It’s a case of being realistic.
“But as things stand there are no plans to replace him in his role. Everyone involved is very happy with the programme in its current form.”
BBC It was revealed in 2017 that Humphrys earned over £600,000, while co-presenter Mishal Husain was paid around £250,000[/caption]
John, who also hosts BBC2’s Mastermind, is the Corporation’s longest-serving presenter with a career spanning more than 55 years.
He faced demands to quit when he was embroiled in the Beeb’s 2017 gender pay gap row.
It emerged his deal of up to £650,000 was nearly 2½ times that of female co-presenter Mishal Husain’s £250,000. He later agreed to a hefty pay cut.
He plans a book on his time on the Radio 4 show in the Autumn this year. Leaving would give him freedom to promote it .

With Rita officially out of the running, Brian Packham is given food for thought and makes an offer behind Rita’s back, which will not go well later this week.
As an excited Brian and Cathy head over to tell Rita the good news, they’re floored to find a furious Rita ranting and raving about Norris selling the shop from under her, unaware they’re the potential new owners.

Katie Price spruces up her mucky mansion as she shows off lavish decor – including crystal lights and a huge portrait

Category : Celebrity , TV & Showbiz

KATIE Price has unveiled a dramatic makeover at her mucky mansion, with the £2 million home decked out with sparkly silver walls, glittering chandeliers and an enormous portrait of her alter-ego Jordan.
The 40-year-old star has done such a good job tidying the vast West Sussex pad, there’s not a mountain of clutter or piece of dirty furniture in sight, like the last time we got a peek inside.
BackGrid A large portrait of Katie Price in her Jordan heyday stares down visitors[/caption]
Instead, visitors are greeted by silver sparkly wallpaper, crushed velvet furniture and gleaming clear surfaces.
In the kitchen, there’s a scrubbed-up kitchen table with six sparkly chairs neatly arranged around it.
Meanwhile, over in the lounge area, a set of luxurious sofas point towards a flatscreen telly above the fire and no fewer than two lavishly-decorated Christmas trees.
So that’s where the £6,000 Katie spend on Christmas decorations has gone.
BackGrid Katie Price’s lounge area boasts a fold-away cinema screen, massive telly and luxurious sofas[/caption]
BackGrid There is plenty of room on the curved couches for Katie Price and her five children[/caption]
BackGrid Well, there’s really no mistaking whose sofa this is…[/caption]
Katie, famous for loving pink to the extent that all her vehicles are decked out in the same lurid colour, certainly seems to have a thing for silver, too.
Every wall is silver and even the Aga cooker, which is plastered with children’s stickers, has been painted to match.
By the door, a pile of vintage trunks are stacked up, while another room, also boasting silver wallpaper and a crushed velvet throne, features the Pricey portrait.
The vision of Katie from her early-20s heyday, when she was universally known as Jordan, has been painted by an artist.
BackGrid In Katie Price’s kitchen, the glittering kitchen chairs match the mansion’s walls[/caption]
BackGrid Even the Aga has been painted to comply with the white-and-silver colour scheme[/caption]
BackGrid Light shines through glass orbs in this elaborate light fixture[/caption]
Almost every room contains some kind of lavish light fitting, with one featuring spirals of cascading glass and another shining through an array of glittery balls.
It’s all a far cry from the tour of the house we got in November, when viewers of My Crazy Life watched, open-mouthed, as Katie opened the doors on the messy mansion.
She admitted: “With the traumatic events I’ve had over the summer, I’ve just let things go. And the poor Pricey mansion is one of them.
“My house is a bit of a reflection of my life, it was all sorted, and now it’s gone all messed up again.”
BackGrid Katie Price’s guests can kick back on a crushed velvet throne – while Pricey checks them out[/caption]
BackGrid Bright white boxes are now neatly piled up in an orderly fashion by the door[/caption]
Referring to 16-year-old son Harvey, she added: “I’ve just got to clear out this whole house. It’s a new start for me and Mr Price.”
Katie has been flogging plenty of the clutter she’s cleared out online, selling her clothes on her ‘Katie’s closet’ eBay page even if – as The Sun revealed – it hasn’t always been a massive hit with bidders.
There were also reports that Katie let her dogs poo all over the floor of the home, with one visitor telling The Sun that it smelt “like a petting zoo”.
However, judging by our pictures, those days are over and the messy mansion is looking sensational – even if it did take Katie two months to clean.
Katie Price let cameras into the mayhem, admitting that the mess reflected her life.
My Crazy Life Outside, a faded pink children’s car looked like it has been attacked by joyriders[/caption]
My Crazy Life Viewers were stunned to see Katie Price’s bedrooms packed with kids’ toys and old clothes[/caption]
